Artist Statement

In soft sculptures, drawings, and installations, I consider how our increasingly homogenous society interacts with institutional architecture and decor and also the manicured land that is so specifically designed to its location and use. The manipulation of the space whether it be in the quiet corners of our homes or in the grandeur of public venues have gathered more attention through social media, crafting, and the laborious search for uniqueness. Despite the efforts to find our our place, we are bombarded with like brands, all in one stores, and rows of identical malls in every city. The work focuses on the rise of forced creativity to find distinction yet the continuous loss of individuality and destruction of history.
