Artist Statement
In soft sculptures, large-scale drawings, and installations, I consider how the body interacts with institutional architecture and decor and also the manicured land that is so specifically designed to its location and use. The work is full of intimate, quiet moments of realization: the colors are not bright, the forms are not outrageous, but within this subtle expression, there are small instances of sensory disruption between my manipulation of the space, the actual space it comes from, and the re-contextualization that comes when placed in a gallery.
